Webflow website copy that does not read like template copy
Webflow is a visual builder that publishes server-rendered HTML, with a CMS, a large ecosystem of templates and cloneable projects, and AI features that can generate sections and draft copy. Because published Webflow pages carry their text in the HTML, the IntentGrid demo can read them. The sameness on Webflow is rarely technical. It comes from shared templates, familiar section patterns and copy written to fit any company. IntentGrid rewrites the words for each visitor; the layout is yours to change in the Designer.

Where Webflow sites converge
Webflow sites are often well built. They converge anyway, for editorial reasons more than technical ones.
- Templates and cloneables. Starting from someone else's structure is efficient, and the structure is the part visitors recognise.
- The standard B2B section set: logo bar, three benefits, feature tabs, testimonial slider, pricing, final call to action. It works, which is why so many pages use it.
- Drafted and template copy. Text written to fit any company in the category fits yours no better than your competitors'.
- Interactions on everything. Webflow makes animation easy to add, and easy to overuse.
The good news is that Webflow is one of the easiest places to change all of this, because the copy sits right there in the Designer or the CMS.
What IntentGrid does and does not do on Webflow
IntentGrid rewrites the text on the published page for each visitor: headlines, body copy, feature descriptions and button labels, based on how they arrived. It adapts your existing copy and leaves brand names, prices, dates and numbers untouched.
It does not connect to your Webflow project, Designer, CMS collections or interactions, and it does not change classes, layout or styles. It is not a design tool and not a traffic source.
Today the working part is a demo that renders a rewritten copy of your published page in a sandbox on intentgrid.ai; adaptation on your own domain is early access, set up per site by hand. How it works has the details.
What the demo reads from a Webflow page
Webflow publishes pages, CMS collection pages included, as server-rendered HTML with the text in place. The demo fetches that HTML, so it has your real copy to rewrite.
What the preview leaves out is anything driven by JavaScript. Interactions, sliders and tab switching do not run because scripts are stripped, content that only becomes visible through an interaction may stay hidden, and forms will not submit. Your live site is untouched either way.
If you have the traffic, test as well
Webflow also offers its own optimization product, including A/B testing. If your site has the traffic for experiments to reach significance, testing gives you evidence, which IntentGrid does not. Check what Webflow's product includes today rather than relying on this summary.
IntentGrid answers a different question: what this page should say to this visitor, when there is not the traffic to wait for a test, or when visitors arrive from places too different for one winning page to serve them all.
An illustrative before and after
- Default, the same for everyone
- Accounting solutions tailored to your business
- Clicked a search ad for “bookkeeper for freelancers”, on a phone
- Monthly bookkeeping for freelancers, so tax season is not a surprise
- Arrived from a local business association's newsletter, on a laptop
- Accounting for small businesses, from people you can meet in person
Same layout, same prices, same claims. Every version uses only what the original page already says: in this made-up case, monthly bookkeeping for freelancers and an office clients can visit.
Fixes you can make in the Webflow Designer
Most of these are an afternoon's work.
- Read every headline aloud with a competitor's name in it. If it still works, rewrite it.
- Move headlines and key claims into CMS fields where it makes sense, so changing words does not mean opening the Designer every time.
- Drop one section from the standard set. A page without the logo bar or the testimonial slider is immediately less familiar.
- Cut interactions back to the ones that explain something. Motion that shows how the product works earns its place; motion on every heading does not.
- Write the SEO title and meta description for each page in its settings, for the person searching rather than for the brand.
The broader reasons sites converge, and the design side of the fix, are in why vibe coded websites look the same.
Webflow questions
Does IntentGrid work with Webflow sites?
It is designed for any site that serves HTML, and published Webflow pages do. The demo works on your published URL today; interactions, sliders and forms do not run in the preview because scripts are stripped. On-domain adaptation is early access, set up per site by hand, and how it is installed will be published when it ships.
Will IntentGrid change my Webflow CMS content?
No. It never connects to your Webflow project or CMS. It rewrites the visible text of the page a visitor receives, and your CMS items, classes, layout and prices stay as they are.
Should I use IntentGrid or an A/B test on Webflow?
If you have the traffic for a test to reach significance, run the test: it gives you evidence and IntentGrid does not. IntentGrid is for sites without that traffic, or with visitors from places too different for one winning page to serve. In principle the two can be combined; nobody has run that combination with IntentGrid yet.
